All fitting.
I thought it was meant to be an abreviation of “character” as in “main character” since Chara is an archetypical RPG protag (in other words the main character in any video games) portrayed in Undertale context as being obsessed with raising his power level by grinding
Chara also means “joy” and ‘friend”.
Fitting for someone who brought hope to the underground and was Asriel’s best friend.
“Chara” means “Angel”, right? Chara fell down the mountain. Fallen angel.
Yep. But if either, I’d default to female for Chara (probably because of the name ending in -a and the knife-toting psycho little girl cliché), so the opposite feels weirdly… dissonant?
Exactly! Beautiful, is it not?
Chara’s still ambiguous, right?
I actually liked how the game just refers to the main character with they/them, fits with the ambiguous graphics. Conversely, feels really weird when I see Chara be referred to as male.
his/her*
That’s his ONLY expression.
:)
It fills you with determination.
