Also, caliber refers exclusively to bullets. .45 LC has the same dimensions as the .410 shotshell, which is why both are used in the judge.

Like ED-SKaR says– in general, “bore” is the word for gauge in the UK, although I have seen several European sources calling it “.410 bore”. Not as many as American sources mistakenly calling it “.410 gauge”, but still.
 
Mostly I’m just sad the ATF shot down Taurus’s plans to introduce the Raging Judge XXVIII 28ga revolver.

I’ve never heard .410 referred to as bore, it’s always .410 calibre (partially interchangeable with .45long colt.) I have, on one gun only, seen markings that read “76 bore/.410 smooth” but that was back when I was still learning about gun related things.

Interesting, seeing as “bore” refers to the barrel diameter, whereas gauge is a completely different style of measurement based on the shell’s size.
 
For example, the .410 bore shotshell is 76 gauge.

You can get drop-in bullpup conversion kits for a wide variety of shotguns and semi-auto rifles, but most of ‘em ain’t all that great, on account of the trigger links are like trying to pull-start a lawnmower with one finger. You can’t really convert an AR because of how the upper hinges onto the lower, but there are several different designs that replicate the AR’s operation as closely as possible to make it easy to use for anyone familiar with the AR or M4 manual of arms, and the new K&M update of the classic M17S is about as close to a true bullpup AR as you can get.

Essentially American usage of ‘12 gauge’ is interchangeable with UK usage of ‘12 bore’.

“bore” refers to the proportion of a pound of lead that rolls into a ball and fits perfectly in the barrel. I’ll assume you are american because the USA seems to be the only country to have switched this around.
 
If you are using the tenths or hundredths of inches then the word is calibre, you can’t have a ‘.12 bore’ you would have a ‘.12 calibre’, I’ve heard of needle rifles but never seen one.
 
If you want a cannon then you need multiple pounds of lead to make a ball that fits the bore, for example: ‘six pounder’, would have a calibre of 2.2”

There are a couple of bullpup conversions for the mossberg 500, ruger 10/22, and Mosin nagant. I recently heard about one for the AR.

Gauge. The word you want is gauge. .12 bore is too small for a .22, and 12 bore is one of those fucking nuclear cannons. (PS: Santa, bring me a nuclear cannon for Christmas.)

Ah, one of the vaporware classics of the last decade– as I recall, Monolith made a lot of promises but never actually built more than a plastic mockup of the Halo before running out of business so hard they got bought for tip jar money by Magpul. It was a pump action design, anyway.

You mean, for example, 12 bore?  

A friend of mine has a suped-up airsoft P90 (from back when it was still possible to find them without the orange muzzle device) and that thing is fun on a bun for as long as the battery lasts.
 
Man, if FN made the P90 in a nonmoonbat caliber, they would not be able to keep the suckers on the shelves- they’re awesome little guns.
