You do realize all he did was paint the wood right? A field strip and an hour or so of soaking in stripper will have it good as new again.

Saying “it’s his gun, he can do whatever he wants with it” is kinda like seeing a man skin his wife alive and saying “it’s his wife, he can do whatever he wants with her.”

Pretty much this, there’s really nothing preventing people from posting on multiple boards, and prior to the coming of 8chan /pol/ was easily the most populous on 4chan, and it’s not hard to see that it’s where most of the naziboos on /k/ came from.
There’s probably a good deal of crossover between /pol/ and /k/. The boards aren’t fenced off, after all. But you’re correct that it’s not openly going on in the responses listed in this image. A quick glance at the current /k/ front page shows some pretty significant racism, but not Nazism.
@A-T-S
I might believe you if you were talking about /pol/, but /k/ is definitely one of the cooler boards.
If they’re so nazi inclined, then why doesn’t the screenshot include any nazi glorification? The third reich was a historical event wherein a certain political contingent of a country tried setting up a new empire, and fucked things up for a good chunk of the rest of the world.
That’s a pretty important thing that happened in history.
The argument in the screenshot that is presented is arguing based on the fact that they thought this was a 70-year-old artifact.
@NounVerb
You’ve never been to 4chan if you seriously think the majority of those nazis are just “history enthusiasts”, not to mention that even if it wasn’t a reproduction gun (it was):
There are millions upon millions of k98s in good condition to be found, they’re not some rare artifact.
The guy who posted this originally took some paint stripper to it right afterwards, two hours later it was in original condition again.
…I normally hate ponying guns. But to enjoy the butthurt of Nazi-glorifying 4chan trolls, I’ll allow this one.
History enthusiasts are now Nazi-glorifiers? As opposed to, what?
Actually read the complaint. They’re upset that what they think is a historical artefact was painted over and decorated. Kind of like someone taking some old antique pottery and just using that as a spice jar to hold their salt and pepper.
I think the end result of the painting looks nice enough, given the photo quality we have to work with, but I’d be miffed if I thought that something from a limited pool of items (things that were used in WW2 and thus were involved in significant historical events) was being irreversibly altered on a whim.
Kind of like hearing about a certain colour of brown paint that was supposedly made with real ground-up mummies.
Sometimes, historical value of items is something people get passionate about.
I’ve seen this copypasta before. Turns-out the gun was one of those replica knockoffs that was deserving of such a fate. At least with the good pone’d guns our fellow /k/ommandos actually put work into it instead of this.
I know,I was being over dramatic.
You do realize all he did was paint the wood right? A field strip and an hour or so of soaking in stripper will have it good as new again.
I know, right? You can always get another wife, but 98Ks are irreplaceable these days.
Because an object is a person, and a person is an object?
I think you’ve got some very warped priorities there.
I mentioned in an earlier comment that it’s a crappy replica deserving of such a fate. You can calm your jimmies now.
/pol/ is the new /b/, where the edgelords go to try to be as blatantly offensive as possible, and to argue about anything political.
Problems happen when the /pol/ shit bleeds over to other parts of the site. It’s one of the newer boards, after all.
Oh thank god. This would be worse than bubbaizing a real old rifle.
@mathprofbrony
Yeah, we know about your kind, and how hateful you are.
“significant racism, but not Nazism”
Phew,i’m rassured,instead of the plague,we have the cholera
