The reason for the cross guard light saber is to introduce a new light saber and to trying keep a classical like a cross guard sword on the cross guard sword we can use the handles on the side to block I don’t know if a cross guard Sword can have blades at the side but considering how this light saber does it can be used to block sabers and attack as we’ll

I agree. || By this picture’s context, that would make her the daughter of Rainbow Dash even though they are completely the opposite of each other’s personalities. ||

Call me dumb or something
But I don’t see the point of the “sidesabers”.

It’s to vent excess plasma or something. Because apparently Kylo couldn’t just roll up to Ilum or buy a commercial pressure oven and make his own crystal. It also serves to allow any competent duelist to cut your saber in half with ease.

You know, I thought I had heard somewhere that the design he used made his lightsaber unstable. Wasn’t that purposeful though? I swear I remember something about it being overpowered on purpose so the blade was warped and distinctly unjedi like.

The kyber crystal inside the lightsaber is cracked, making the blade unstable and jagged. The quillons vent excess power so the saber doesn’t blow Kylo’s hand off.

Actually, I can answer that for you. There was an article on it a while back that I can’t post a link for, but here’s the part of the article that’s important.

“For those who didn’t know, the word quillons is nothing new. That’s just another word for the crossguard on a sword. But what is new is learning that the weapon is an “ancient design” and that the quillons are “raw power vented from the primary central blade.” So the weapon is an older design, which explains why it needs vents.”
