Has Alfred Bester been ponified? Has Kazuma Torisuna been ponified? Has Oscar Wilde been ponified and subsequently drawn perving on human Oscar Wilde?

No, my friend, the ponification shall continue until our servers and brains turn to dust. SO SAY WE ALL.

The fact that The Phantom Menace made enough money when it was shown in 3D ($102 mil.) enough to make it cross the billion mark, despite being lauded says something.

Yes, it says that people will go see anything as long as they recognize the brand.
I’ll agree on the music, John Williams did an awesome job in the prequels, and his flare was absent in Star Wars 7. But the fact that you liked the prequels means nothing when you are trying to critique them. I like a lot of B movies (just rewatched Tremors, twas glorious) but I won’t say that they are good. I can still look at the way it was filmed, directed and ploted to objectively say that they are bad movies.

So yeah, I can objectively say the prequels were bad, in almost every way.

But they weren’t critical failures.

Now you are just arguing against pure facts. Star Wars 3 was the least criticized, and it was still badly reviewed.

For me, the score and action in the prequels were the only good things. The exposition was unnecessary, though. It wouldn’t have been so bad if the delivery of most lines weren’t hamfisted, and the writing wasn’t so terrible.

Alright, to say that the prequels had “bad everything” is subjective. If you thought the prequels were terrible, that’s your opinion. (I thought the score in TFA was immemorable compared to the last movie, and I disliked the lack of exposition in the film) But they weren’t critical failures. Love them or not, these movies told a story and showed new interesting worlds and introduced a younger generation to Star Wars. People like me. The fact that The Phantom Menace made enough money when it was shown in 3D ($102 mil.) enough to make it cross the billion mark, despite being lauded says something.

In the old EU, some species had low birthrates so they were exempt from the no families/attachments clause in the Jedi order. One of them being Ki-Adi-Mundi of the Jedi council.

That was terrible in the prequels, rules by severely shitty Jedi manufactured to hinder the romance between the Anakin and Padme.
Even if Luke decided to follow that, (how would he know about it?), that still doesn’t explain why he would choose to have a kid in the first place, get rid off her when she is old enough to have memories of it, or why would he dump her all alone on the shittiest possible planet to maybe not die of hunger if she’s good enough at collecting junk.

Let’s face it, Luke (In the old EU before Disney got rid of it) decided that ‘Jedi not having families or love’ was total bollocks and didn’t re-introduce it when he re-made the Jedi Order (Not to mention, he married Mara Jade).

I’d say to hide her from anyone trying to hurt her. I’m guessing he left her there just after Kylo went into a killing spree, and Ren probably knew about her (he seems very agitated when he learns that there is a girl with BB8). Maybe she was left with a nice family, like Luke was, but something happened and she had to scrap by to live.

Screw that George Lucas bullshit. He threw that out there just to manufacture conflict in the prequels.

@Mike
My feelings exactly. Really didn’t like his character, but in the end I think that’s how he’s supposed to be: completely unbalanced and emotionally unstable. A perfect candidate to become a user of the dark side. And at least he sells the act, he really looks and feels like a crazed teen that’s either about to burst into tears or go on a rampage, not like Anakin in the prequels that just looked like a pouty child.
@Salamenace
I didn’t say Anakin had no reason to be pissed, I said his dialogue and the acting made him look like a petulant child asking for a forbidden toy, when he should have been like Kylo. That’s actually what I said to my friends on my second viewing: Kylo is what Anakin should have been, if he had been directed by a competent filmmaker.
As for Ren’s reasons to go to the dark side, I can see some causes: growing up in the middle of a civil war, his parents are both generals so he probably didn’t see them much (he even says Solo was a disappointing father), he could have been corrupted by an outside influence, and most importantly he definitely worships Darth Vador and wants to be like him. Anakin seems to have more legitimate grievances, but Kylo is the one that sells it.
