This was originally intended for Equestria Daily’s Friend-Off event back on August 24; it’s just a teeeny tiny bit late ^_. The scene depicted is from Chapter 27 of Sharaloth’s fanfic, “Harmony Theory,” one of my favorite stories of all time.

This is the most detailed drawing I’ve ever worked on, and the task of its creation got rather complicated. A rough 3D model of the cathedral was constructed first in Blender, to help me choose a camera angle and then to provide a guide for maintaining the correct perspective view while working on the 2D drawing. The congregation was generated using Flash puppets, along with the help of Freemat, Blender, and Photoshop batch processing.
