it was all part of Luna’s plan to take over Equestria but this time it wouldn’t be a hostile takeover. No, once Princess Celestia makes her retirement official and she steps down Luna will finally make her plan known and scream “PSYCH! I got you to step down now I am the one and only ruler of Equestria at long last!” then take her rightful place on the throne!

I thought you said you were retiring.

“Come Mr. Bigglesworth!”

AD: Sooooo? Then why are there two thrones, my Empress? *BOWS*  
E.Luna: That is all that remains of Our dear sister, Celestia.  
AD: And you’re not at all upset that your sister’s throne is bigger.  
EL: Not at all. For you see, our beloved sister required such an enlarged sitting spot to accommodate her jumbo-sized flan-  
P.Celestia: WHAT! LUNA! I’LL TEACH YOU TO SEE OF MY TUSH IN SUCH A FOUL MANNER!  
AD: QUICKLY, MY EMPRESS! RUN OR FLY OR TELEPORT OR WHATEVER IT IS YOU DO WHILE I DISTRACT HER WITH CAKE!

In the end Empress Luna managed to escape to prank her sister another day. Princess Celestia ended up really enjoying the cake. But unfortunately for the castle staff both throne ended up needing to be cleaned and vacuumed due to cake frosting, cookie crumbs and melted ice cream stains. But apparently that’s a common occurrence here in the castle so the cleaning staff were well prepared and at the ready. The speed with which they accomplished their tasks would make even Rainbow Dash herself envious.

Long live the queen.
