While this is very cute.  
I prefer the idea that changelings aren’t the children of the queen. That they are more independent, that they find their own mates and have kids.  
The queen herself having very few kids if at all.  
Her subjects are her children in her heart.

Something about Changeling reproduction, the one where the queens birth them all, that makes me feel good. Seeing queens as being mothers to potential thousands of beings brings a warm glow to my heart. It’s why I love ‘x becomes or discovers they were a changeling queen’ fics. This kind of birth is relatively easier than placental births, since the eggs are much smaller, and the attachments seem more ‘magical’ to me. For some reason. Always fun reading a changeling queen laying her first eggs, and then seeing her first clutch hatch.
 
And this picture really shows the motherly side of changeling queens very well.
