Little known fact: Hawk Eye has dyslexia. It’s a pretty bad case, as he had a hard time with even the most basic assignments throughout his school years. He wanted to learn and do well, but he just couldn’t. Not even Moonstone had much luck helping him. He was afraid to ask for help from adults, so teachers wrote him off as another kid who wasn’t trying hard enough or just didn’t care.  
Due to this, Hawk eventually wrote himself off as being naturally an idiot. He was dumb and there was nothing he could do about it, he reasoned. He put up a front of the class clown who didn’t care, and dropped out in middle school. Even today, Hawk’s dyslexia still goes undiagnosed, so he avoids reading and writing whenever possible.
