Description
In NeoGAF’s MLP community thread, we decided to vote on episodes for a recommended episode guide, based on those created for Star Wars: Clone Wars and other shows. After tallying up votes, we then modified the results to get better character coverage, to get at least one episode for each of the Mane Six each season (besides 1 and 3). This resulted in a total of 63 episodes that were recommended, or 7/13 of the series. While things have slowed down in terms of new people joining the fandom, this will hopefully be useful for anyone that’s starting out but is overwhelmed by the number of episodes. I didn’t like #11 at all and I think discord means nothing to the show as well. unfortunately, the episode demonstrated twilight’s magical prowess and is thus important
it also shows the thing that fluttershy does: mental manipulation! :P

“Wonderbolts Academy” flubbed the plot development, making Spitfire at least as culpable as Lightning Dust; I can understand people liking it more than “Magic Duel” anyway, but personally I think the above list is correct.
that’s true but if this weird “list” was only about popular “fan favorites,” then I’d say Wonderbolts Academy outta be purple, too. I think it is more about episodes showing off awesome magical (friendship) prowess

the show is all about Twilight, so yeah :(
Word of god from the producers and writers. Things are not canon just because you don’t like them.
A lot of people will find that statement debatable,i think it’s more fair to label EQG as skipable.It’s a part of the show in the sense that it was made at the same time as MLP but the staff did so much damage control and contradictory statement with that (that “it’s canon except maybe not cuz the show dont acknowledge it) that it’s better to forget about it.In other words,the fate of your average lazy Monster High rip off

Why would it be anything but white, it’s completely irrelevant to the show
