The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

No, not like with them at all obviously. It took Fluttershy to show Twilight there was something redeemable in Discord and even then he didn’t catch on until later. Meanwhile it never entered her mind that Tirek was anything but a monster, and she was right.

Where Starlight actually had something that motivated her, an ideology, something good that could be perverted to destructive ends and thus she could be reasoned with, forgiven. Unlike Discord, who’s the manifestation of a concept that just needed to learn how to apply a filter which Twi was skeptical he was capable of and Tirek who had no motivation beyond pure wrath and greed. In fact, Twi’s expereince with Discord what might be what taught her that Starlight could be redeemed.

A character’s likeliness to be forgiven is directly dependent on how marketable a toy of them would be to the target audience.

Well it’s not like she didn’t meet resistance with it from her friends. I think that just goes to show how great Twilight is that she is even ABLE to forgive such vileness. It’s a truly selfless gesture.

Considering the fact that they’re both bitchfitting assholes who commit the biggest Moral Event Horizons in their respective series, that sounds about right.

I STILL have no idea why Twilight forgave Starlight. Starlight’s actions literally make her as reprehensible as Bella Swan, and given her past I don’t doubt that was all a fabrication to get herself out of a tough bind by exploiting a demonstrated weakness in her enemy.
