When I am sick I will often sketch just to take my mind off the fact I feel like crap! I did this sketch sooner after Further Confusion when I was feeling pretty crappy. Which probably explains the very scratchy line quality in the piece, but it took my mind off the fact I was sick!
 
The scene is one that has happened several times in my Equestria dreamscape. I come home from a day of weather work and find Carousel resting on sofa after a day of pulling cart all around Ponyville making deliveries. In this case Petina was out of town for a few days and it was early evening by the time I finally landed at our cottage but since it was late spring/ early summer it was still fairly light.
 
Walking in through the front door I heard Carousel stir on the sofa. Light from the setting sun was coming through the window and was casting some amazing highlights on the palomino colored mare. She lifted her head from the pillow and smiled at me with a sleepy smile.
 
“Welcome Sky Brush. How was your day?” I strolled over and nuzzled her and gave her a quick kiss.
 
“You look as tired as I feel.” I replied. “Let me get a hot bath ready, we could both use a good soaking. Then I’ll fixes us something to eat. Okay?”
 
She smiled. Then closed her eyes and rested her head back on the pillow. I took one more look and went to start our bath.
