Well, I am.
 
Though yeah, we’re a dying breed. In the “good old days” threads that crop up occasionally, there’s like maybe 10 unique posters? Anyway, the thing is, it’s easy to burn out on pone. Plus, the charm of the early community was that we did so much guessing and working stuff out and so on. Like, we wondered about teenage dragons, or whether or not Scoots was crippled, or what Luna would be like in S2 (we assumed she would be a Fluttershy ripoff, but some early fanart got her right). I remember when Eurobeat posted his Evil Enchantress mix. I remember how we would watch PensivePine’s uploads for new eps, and then watch them over and over again on Yaridovich’s synchtube.
 
All those moments gone… like tears in the rain.

Yeah, how many people in /mlp/ were in /co/ when it all started?

Men are still not the target audience of the show.  
There is no need to be. They watch it anyway.

Nowadays feminists are the most prominent anti-bronies, but in the early days of the fandom I’d say social conservatives had a more virulent reaction.

I like that remark about “right-wing nutjobs,” considering most brony haters I see online are usually more left wing, or liberal ironically. (Like the Tumblr radicals.) Even Glen Beck of all people, defended that li’l boy who was bullied for wearing a MLP backpack.
 
Both sides have their close-minded people, but I’d rather not debate about politics.

Also aren’t millennials avoiding having children? Or just avoiding children in general?

Is the millennial an older teenager with a younger sibling, or an adult with a young child? Because if it’s the former, that’s way too young to be a millennial, and if it’s the latter, it’s a little too old.

Took them long enough. Who would have thought that even boys and teenagers would enjoy show-accurate figurines that simply look cute or cool. Unlike these disgusting abominations they kept making up to this point. I can’t wait to get my Sunset Shimmer Mini.

It’s not that it isn’t true; it’s that they acknowledged this many years ago. It just took them a little while to figure out how to target a demographic they had no experience with.
