Emerald decides on the magic missile spell. It sounds pretty awesome!
 
“Alright, We’ll go over to my training room… After dinner!” Joyride says, sniffing the air hungrily.
 
Emerald looks at Ruby, and she has finished cooking up the vegetables. Emerald helps her read the rest of the cookbook and soon the burritos are made and passed out. They are also incredibly delicious.
 
While she eats her dinner, Ruby asks, “So what makes it so someone can cast a spell? You said Emerald couldn’t cast some of the harder ones, or something?”
 
“How do I explain this so you guys can understand it… So for pony magic, say that your magical energy is a cup of water, and the spell you want to cast is another container. To get the spell to cast you’d have to fill the thimble up with water from your cup, that is the activation energy. Each spell as it’s own activation energy, for sake of this example, we’ll say it could be a thimble, a mug, or even a swimming pool. But if you train your energy err…” Joyride taps her chin, and then continues, “Your cup will grow bigger. I guess the whole analogy falls apart there, but you get what I mean right?”
 
Ruby nods and then asks, “So what about other magic then?”
 
“Other types of magic use a different form of energy. Say, for goat magic you could think of filling the spells cup with marbles, and then filling the spaces between with your magical energy, or for Zebra alchemy you’d be filling it up not with water, but with that soup you brewed at home earlier. Succubus magic? Filling the cup with cum!”
 
Emerald could have done without that final one, but that whole thing was interesting nonetheless.
