It was an accident. And there are also rules against entering a restricted airspace without permission. Wonderbolt Academy was a horrible mess.

She did not break any rules. And she is not the only one who made mistakes.
As long as the new episode (1) establishes that she really was an arrogant jerk who felt the rules didn’t apply to her and (2) handles her heel-face turn believably, I could go along with it. But if it follows the popular fanon of her being a Rainbow Dash clone who got punished for other ponies’ mistakes, tables will be flipped.

I find that actually sounds like a great episode.
a shitty reformation thing
She was actually set up pretty well for an eventual turnaround; a heck of a lot better than Gilda was, that’s for sure, and LTOG still managed to sell her Heel/Face Turn surprisingly well. LD gave off a hard vibe of somepony who’d never had anyone tell her to STFU before and had never been made to deal with any consequences of her actions, and having her turn up trying to make herself into a better person so she doesn’t get slapped down like that again would be just as believable as Rainbow Doosh learning to dial her obnoxiousness down a few notches over Season 2.
If that happens, I hope she doesn’t get a shitty reformation thing like the other “bad” characters…
I for one hope we do see Lightning “Dush”!
Though if we do, I hope she’ll learn, or have learned to, be not quite as dickish.

She was the only other Pegasus able to keep up with Rainbow Dash. Hopefully she returns and beats Rainbow in a race, which leads to Scootaloo helping Rainbow regain her confidence and defeat Lightning Dust. It would be nice to have Scootaloo be the supportive one for once and help Rainbow.
But yeah, I actually really like Lightning Dust.
i know she was a dick, but that’s pretty much it.
