In most cases, fans give him traits he lacks canonically. It’s pretty much like pairing her with Thunder or Soarin’ or a whomever else with a speedster manestyle and a set of wings because the ultimate goal of FlashLight and any other like ships is pairing the girl with braces in the front row of Algebra 2 and Average Joe with adequate social skills she’s always wanted to approach, but was kinda afraid. Note some of these artists are that girl. Sometimes that guy with braces et cetera. :3
 
I used Average Joe and Jane in the metaphor because most stallion protagonists do not fully resemble Captain of the Team or Head Cheerleader.
