Actually, it’s a UK thing, made by UK biscuit giants Burtons. I have literally no idea why it’s named after the US state of Maryland, though I’d be interested if anyone else knows. :)

A Maryland what? Is it like Tillamook ice cream where it’s mainly sold closer to it’s state of origin and is just really popular around maryland? Is it like a U.K. thing? And if so, why do you guys have a cookie named after an American state?
