I understand what you tried to do, but —at least with my perspective—, you should do the “bigger expression” completely hand drawn and not resizing, because the structure of the head changes slightly. Anyway, the animation is pretty smooth :)
I exaggerated it for a brief frame, because I thought it wasn’t easy to notice.
It’s more of a classical animation cliche, I guess? If you ever watched some black and white cartoons frame-by-frame, you’d see worse stuff than that.
What’s happened with his eye? oO
I will give you a tip: the standard timing in the show is 0,04 seconds, use between 0,04 and 0,08 seconds, but it should be constant, not divided, you can make transitions with different timing in simple movements like blinking. Also, don’t exaggerate too much the size of the facial expressions, at the end it looks kind of unnatural, try to be soft when you are resizing. This is the difference:
Looks better than what I did.
I’m sorry for the delay. What do you think?
I will see what can I do, it won’t take too much time :)
I don’t even know if I fixed it or not.
But you can fix it up, I guess?
Well, if you correct a bit the speed, I think it would be better. If you want, I can help you, I’m literally doing gifs all day.
I tried to give it a shot, may be a tad too fast because I dunno how to make decent GIFs.
Maybe make one frame where his eye is a tad more wide open and maybe raise his head on the in-between.
