Diversity forced upon characters who are what might as well be considered the canonical equivalent of white is indeed an ailment, yes.

As for seeing people represented in art, what’s the point? You can look out the window and see plenty of people of all shapes and sizes, I’d much rather have ponies unmuddied by human imperfection represented through art than succumb to miasmatic social impressions and deformation.

As for interest regarding characters being represented so jaw-droppingly detached from their canon counterparts… well, I think it can be regarded as less of a homage to the original characters and more of a brutilization of their concept. This of course becoming more and more acceptable over time due to individuals trying to take new ground and terraform it into a more familiar space. Clearly you’ve been influenced by such people.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t draw what you want to draw, draw whatever you want fam. just keep in mind that the silent majority doesn’t take too kindly to this kind of stuff

I’m honestly curious how drawing them like as Muslim and black takes away the “innocence” of the show. I didn’t draw them like this as a political statement, I drew them because I like the designs, and because… black and brown kids exist. Drawing black and brown people isn’t a political statement, it’s just drawing people.
I think there’s a lust for hc stuff because a) it’s interesting to see characters drawn different ways. This isn’t the first CMC that I’ve drawn, they were just the ones I ended up liking the best. When you work with character design, race is going to be put into play, and an aspect of unique character design is not having all your characters have the same tone and features. And b.) people like to see themselves represented, or see their friends represented. For example, I know that I got really excited when I saw art of Pinkie in a Chanukah sweater, because, even if it isn’t cannon or anything, it’s fun to think about her family being a little like mine. It’s show cannon that her family celebrates Hearth’s Warming, of course, but it’s still fun to think about her maybe doing some things that my family does, too. It makes me feel more connected to the character, even if it’s just headcannon, and it’s nice to feel connected to your favorite character.
I’ll admit I didn’t catch your sarcasm, I’m pretty bad with sarcasm online. I know that the other user wasn’t being sarcastic though, because I’m friends with him and I’ve shown him this drawing before I put it on this site.
And last off– don’t ever say “Scootaquisha” again. That’s really fucking gross, and beyond shitty. I also feel like the fact that you think of diversity as an “ailment” says a hell lot more about you than it does about me.

Why is there such a lust for headcanon stuff? It’s appalling if not obtrusive. A genuine critique would be a comment like that, a comment that shows that people actually do look at stuff like this and wretch. You seemed to have missed my (and others) sarcasm in earlier posts which is rudimentary evidence you have no problem with this. This isn’t deviantart, we don’t care for crap like muslimshy or scootaquisha as it goes against the whole principle of being an innocent child’s show by shoving politics where it shouldn’t be. It’s just flat out inexcusable to make art with content of this caliber when you could be doing so much more than slapping the worst, most defining facial characteristics of a race and slapping it on the conceptualization of a humanized horse. You want critique? Don’t do this. There’s always a need for more pony art that’s untainted with the ailments of headcanons or diversity. Plus if you stop doing stuff like this you might actually be liked and random people on the internet won’t lecture you about the rights and wrongs of pone art

Okay. So how would I improve it? Give me some constructive criticism here, don’t just call it “tumblr sjw bullshit.” I drew them based on hcs that I’ve seen around that I liked and adapted as my own. What are your headcannon CMC? I’m honestly kinda curious, and I’d be willing to listen to what your hc CMC is.
I’ve seen art of Rarity and Sweetie in hijabs and liked the artwork, and it became my hc, and I’ve hc’d Scootaloo as black since I started watching the show.
Look, if you have genuine criticism of the style of my art, then I’d be more than happy to hear it, I’m always willing to improve, but if you’re just annoyed that I hc Sweetie as Muslim and Scootaloo as black, then I’m honestly not interested, and could honestly care less if you like my art. You’re free to you hcs, I’m free to mine.
Again, if you have a criticism for my art, then I’m more than happy to hear it! Otherwise, I’m not interested. There is a lot of human art of CMC out there, so I’m sure you can find what you’re looking for.
