Princess Celestia grew suspicious her sister was seeking higher power in order to overthrow her. In order to prevent this, Princess Celestia banished her to the moon, severing her connection to the Elements of Harmony forever.
 
Now she is Queen Magmare Sun, the immortal goddess who rules over the kingdom of Equestria with an iron hoof. Magically powerful unicorns are taken away to specialized training faculties to be trained or drained of their magic, pegasi are taken early as foals to training camps, and earth ponies are pushed to farm more and are given the minimum amount of education necessary.
 
Now a thousand years after Luna’s banishment, Queen Sun is struggling to find a method of keeping her sister trapped in the moon, lest she be overthrown. Four ponies known as “Luna’s Stars” will aid in her escape, and the Queen seeks to stop them. But who are these ponies?
 
Not only that, but the Crystal Empire has risen again, and war banks over the horizon.
