request was something about a muslim Twilight doing terroristy things so I went with this
Celestia Vult!
loads catapult
Also, I like several Muslim characters in NCIS. :3
I’m still adamant she’s coming on to some other chick. XD
it just doesnt fit her becuase people of Islamic faiths do not belive in sciences that disprove the teachings of Allah (peace be upon him) and that is not the person/pony Twilight is.
I got into an argument because I theorized Cadance was born in the Empire, fell out of Sombra’s time curse early, and was raised by Earth Ponies as an orphan before killing some chick and getting a horn. XD
Well, I can agree to that, especially if the artist has a habbit of making those traits defining the humanizations specifically and then yelling them out loud in every description. However, all too often bronies seem to assume that this will always be the case. Not to mention they will get pissed if an author is asked to elaborate on some head cannons.
Not only bronies, other fandoms do it too
And multiculturalism is forced in a sense when people feel the need to include all ethnicities just to be ‘not racist’.
I wasn’t particularly saying the artist here was forcing it, just artists in general
But my main point was how people have to associate a certain trait to a character just because it seems to ‘fit’
For example, Asian Twilght, because she’s smart, likes science and is a nerd, just like the stereotypical view of Asians
Or how Pinkie is pansexual, becuase she’s hyper, always happy, and loves everyone
Personality and character should not be associated with ethnicity, religion, culture, sexuality, etc.
If you’re just having fun messing around how the character looks, or it’s really how you see that character, it’s fine
If you didn’t want to get involved you wouldn’t have posted anything so what’s the point of commenting just to say “I’m not going to comment”
barbaric apes.
So yeah, Muslim headcanons are just as bad as Christian or Jewish ones if you can’t justify it. Arabs are cool though.
People are free to draw humanizations as however they please with whatever interpretation they want. That’s why EQG went for the Doug effect. If someone wants to draw them all as black or Asian to match the artist’s ethnicity, it’s not forced. If they have a certain interpretation, it’s not forced.
Issue is that bronies get offended a lot when you don’t draw them all as white. So sorry, but it’s also forced conformity if you draw them as all white just not to piss off easily offended bronies.
Goes both ways, so the only time to be outraged is if the artist is intentionally trying to come off as smug
Also middle ages Europe featured plenty of Mongol Invasions, Turkics, North Africans and Middle Easterners. Granted they weren’t dominant, but MLP is it’s own distinct verse so using human history isn’t a valid excuse. My country Armenia is pretty homogeneous (thanks to Stalin), but I’d get ticked if Mongols or Persians or Arabs didn’t show up in something based on our middle age history.
@VNagato
I don’t get why bronies assume making ponies multicultural is always forced. If the artist does it solely to be smug, okay then there is 100% good reason to be pissed.
We know (Well, most of us do.). We’re just discussing the trend in general. Votes would be near the red if it came off as that.
If you think about it, it’s more racist to label or associate one with a specific culture/race rather than just agreeing we’re all human beings
Part of why I said just stick with show colors
Yeah, but then you’re still trying to directly relate ponies one specific human race. Even if the general culture is based on North America, it’d still be odd turning three distinct pony races into just one human race.
You don’t expect to see a series of muslim art that has existed since 2011-2? :T
Probably the artist is an atheist who doesn’t have something to do.
