Another one for the Ermald universe.
 
Ermald was always a troublesome colt. His step-parents tried to teach him to be a good pony but he was always so petulant and defiant to them. occasionally refusing to even study. His attitude only seemed to get worse when he evntully discovered his mother’s amulet. Time and Time again tutors and body guards would quit because they felt threatened by the boy or in a few cases they claimed that he was trying to seduce them. One night the step-mother discovered, in rarely used south eastern tower, Ermald practicing demon magic in tower’s basement. The step-parents then chose to punish Ermald for trifling with such dangerous forces by having him restricted to his room and under guard whenever he’s out. Concerned that something evil might be influencing or controlling him they would nightly take him a special room where both step-parents would try various methods to remove whatever it is that must have tainted the red maned foal. Ermald only got worse and one day when Papillion came over to visit Ermald attempted to rape her in library when the guards were out for a moment. Furious, the step-mother put a specialized ring on him to keep him doing something like that ever again.
 
Ermald eventually escaped from his controlling step-parents and fled into the woods where he ran into two members of the Order of Sword who sought to purge him of his wicked ways. Ermald flaunted his status as a member of the Jewel Family and engineered a fight between the two Demon Hunters and the guards sent to retrieve him. In the chaos he fled once more.
 
Ermald eventually ran into Hope Blossoms, a mercenary who, came from a family of healers and doctors, but chose the life of a merc to satisfy her desires of violence and sadism and her darker desires of young children. Hope saw an easy target in Ermald, who was posing as a innocent though lonely child among the other mercs and chose to lure him away from the others back to her tent. The night that followed they both showed their true colors and formed a sort of strange kinship between the two of them. (Though Ermald secretly wishes that she would someday bend to his will.) Together they would meet the mage Joyride, whom Ermald would eventually blackmail, and their paths soon separated.
 
Their paths once again crossed once more and they choose to have some cake. She invites him to stay the night at her home and Ermald agrees and plans to have her soon yelling his name. Hope smiles and inwardly laughs, knowing that she had something special laced within the cake.
 
They both enjoy the cake and know that tonight is going to be quite a night.
