I guess all of the stuff other than the toys is coming later because the comics aren’t coming out this year either.
I’m hoping next year they announce this as a series thet is set after the movie.
Maybe.
I wonder….. It’s possible?
Ah. Sorry for snapping at you then.
I stand corrected, then. I’ve been away from almost two years from here and this is literally the first time I hear about this.
I just took a look at the related tag to catch up. It’s interesting what I’ve seen so far.
It’s literally about the franchise. How is this not MLP related?
… Then how does it work?
Yeah no that’s not how it works.
They are canon to the show, since they take place in the same multiverse.
Interestingly, there are several trademarks for Friendship is Magic, just as there are two for Guardians of Harmony. It seems to cover different classes of things.
One trademark for Guardians of Harmony definitely looks like it’s for toys and such, and there’s no doubt about that. The newest trademark is interesting, though. It’s fun to conjecture that Hasbro has something else planned for GoH.
I’m not getting my hopes up or anything. It’s simply fun to conjecture!

A job listing for a creative lead for MLP.
I think it’s a standard trademark phrase. Another company has the exact same phrase for their Keep On Dreaming trademark.
Maybe they include that for everything just in case they wanna do something with it?
It does say filed in 2010, registered in 2012. Our government sure is slow.
But more importantly, I’ve discovered that Hasbro has been copy-pasting entertainment services, namely, an ongoing animated television series for children for decades – that exact description is also used for a 1998 trademark titled TONKA JOE.
Tonka is a Hasbro line of electronic toys themed on military vehicles and, so far as I know, has never had a cartoon as a memorable portion of its content. It had plenty of video games and a few movies, though.

It was first filed 2010-06-21.
Trademark was obviously filed before then…
The trademark you’ve linked is from 2012; the show premiered in 2010, ergo it was “ongoing” at the time that trademark was filed
Now that is interesting.
Interestingly, so is Friendship is Magic.
I think it means we’ll have to wait and see. It’s apparently not just a comic and toy line.
