Meh, I beg to differ. It isnt fair to compair a comic to a whole show to see if someone’s statement is canon. Too much material difference in size. Even then, Lauren herself said that what she said wasn’t canon, so there you have it. They may have followed it for a bit, but it isn’t canon eg. Celestia raised Spike.

Lauren had said that Celestia raised Spike after he hatched while Twilight focused on her studies. During that time is when Celestia made the special scrolls that his dragon fire could send and receive (nothing else is “sent” via his flames, just roasted/melted). When he was old enough, she employed him as Twilight’s assistant (her grounding to do more normal things and not JUST studies) and her special secret direct line between teacher and student.
No, if the thing opposite the bulk gave Twi this much trouble…

What did she say about Spike’s background?
I read it, it was not that good. Made spike look like a pet, an animal that needed to be trained and not a baby, especially with the crass way celestia basically shoved him off onto twilight and ALSO expects her to do good in her studies.
I prefer what lauren said as Spike’s background.
The baby stuff, the kinda weak “must feed egg” fanon, etc., MF’s was kinda weak.
