She actually prefer to keep only a few days worth of food in her belly at most. Any more than that and gravity turns her meal against her every time she flies.
 
Despite having at least tripled in length, she does in fact not need a lot more food since no expensive body functions are affected. Her entrails can’t process the food any faster either so stuffing herself just enables her to go longer (up to a few weeks) before eating again. It really caught her off guard a few times in the beginning. Eating “normally” forces her to remain grounded to keep the food comfortably distributed inside her.
