Well, considering I sometimes dip cookies in milk, I don’t think I’d be surprised at all.
You wouldn’t think milk that tasted like a cinnamon-sugar cookie would be good. You would learn otherwise very quickly.
Here’s a good recipe, just in case you’re interested. I suggested the raw egg version, personally. But I can understand if you’re squeamish about that kind of thing and go with the cooked version. And, of course… the bourbon is completely optional.
As someone who has had home-made eggnog… even the best store bought stuff doesn’t compare to it.
The quality does vary widely by brand. Here’s a comparison of a whole bunch.

Well I do like me some rum.
So much of the more “American” side of Christmas I don’t get. When I comes to drinks, we just drink whisky. Lots and lots of whisky.
Pray tell us of the taste of it so that we may better understand!
It’s basically thin custard - milk/cream, egg and sugar. Optionally mixed with spirits (typically rum).
It’s eggs, milk, sugar, and spices. A lot better than it sound when I describe it that way.
Also… sometimes liquor is added. But not always.
