Joyride and the Captain argue more about the advantages to going through and avoiding the strait, and Emerald tries to think what he has heard about the Undead.
 
Emerald knows that undead usually rise around places with plenty of bodies and deeply saturated with magic. Though Joyride said someone might be controlling them, which makes him think of necromancers. He’s read about them before, but he isn’t sure what is truth about necromancers and what is myth. Though he is sure about one thing. He’s read tons and tons of stories about them, and they are never the good guys.
 
“I’m the Captain of this ship, Joyride. And we go through the strait whether you like it or not. That’s all I’m saying about it.” The Captain says loudly.
 
Joyride frowns heavily, but says nothing. She walks towards the door, and Emerald dashes to meet up with her. She doesn’t look back at Emerald and just continues down the stairs towards the kitchen, where she immediately grabs a flagon and pours herself a beer magically.
 
She sits down, chugs a bit of it, and sighs. Ruby catches this, and wanders towards Joyride and asks, “Jeez Joyride, it’s not even mid-day yet and you are hitting the booze?”
 
Joyride glares at her, but to Ruby’s credit she just stands there and takes it.
 
“Bah, the Captain is going to get everyone killed.”
 
“Wait, what?” Ruby says, flatly, “How?”
 
“I don’t know. But something is going to happen. I’m sure of it.” Joyride says, doing the rest of the cup and pouring herself another.
