Basically one of the people here dubbed her “Firginia” and I rolled with it, while 4chan on the other hand dubbed her “Groot” after one of her pics was posted there.
 
Thing is, something I genuinely admire about 4chan is how they work together in this group and just create these stories and headcanons and names and characters. They dubbed her Groot, and in their circle she’s Groot, while the people here dubbed her Firginia and in our circle she’s Firginia. It would be wrong to try and tell anyone otherwise. As far as I’m concerned she’s Groot, she’s Firginia, one could be a nickname, the other could be a surname, it’s all good.
 
(Funny thing too, I originally had a third name for her until she was dubbed “Firginia”. For the life of me I can’t remember what it was)

That’s the first appearance of her in either text or images. You’ll notice her getting named Firginia in the comments. 4chan came up with the name Groot later, I’m not sure why.

Firginia and Groot? Why does she have two names? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone even mention the name Firginia before.
