@Asharak
Eh, Assault Rifle it is, then.
I guess it’s all contextual, though.
Dang, can you imagine that court case and the media circus that might follow? If someone was arrested for a bunch of murder but murder in the process of destroying a human trafficking ring.
I think that’s what governor and presidential pardons are for :q
I mean, realistically, I’d probably just get my butt handed to me and am better off just calling the police/FBI or something, but still… And then there’s hoping they don’t just sit on it and not do anything about it because of some stupid beaurocracy reason or something.

The problem with buying them out of slavery and delivering them to freedom is that you end up dumping a lot of money into the system. That encourages it to keep going, for the slavers to keep breeding/kidnapping the ponies/people.
The only thing you can buy slaves in that stops the market is lead.
Hmmm, you do know that human trafficking is a thing IRL - you said as much. You know there actually is something very directly you can do about it, totally legally, too. You’d best get some military training, though, join the army or something :p
Any amount of intelligence or wisdom I possess would help in this, otherwise I’d mostly be armed with good intentions.
Sapient beings = object permanence. They can miss home.
Well, it’s a bit more complicated than that - animals can still be sad at their surroundings, and can miss home, but not in the same sort of soul-crushing way that sapient beings can. It’s complicated. But that’s the gist of it.
@Background Pony #6ACF
…I didn’t buy an assault rifle for nothing. loljk. In reality you could probably just buy her and find her home. Best course of action would probably be to focus on making money, make a lot, buy ponies, maybe even make them work for a bit to help get enough money to buy the other ponies to set them free. Reason for the “work” part is to raise the funds to make the process self-perpetuating so you can free a fundamentally unlimited number as opposed to just as many as you can afford.

this world? you mean there’s more than one? wowsers!
I guess it’s just down to a matter of taste. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying either escapist or grounded entertainment though I feel that most people are inherently good so I will always gravitate towards more “idealistic” characters and story’s. People being good for it’s own sake is realistic to me. It’s Not as common as it should be but it’s not blood diamond rare either.
The human condition is what we make it and the only certainty is death. We have the power to make everything before that as pleasent or unpleasent for each other and ourselves as we want.

I find escapism boring. It’s too ideal for my taste. I like the human condition, because it makes life interesting. Everyone likes to write the human saving the pony, maybe even saving all of the ponies. That’s boring. The real reaction is far more entertaining and meaningful. I could go into the fact that Anon is most likely in a black market of some kind unless pony slaves are widely accepted.
If it’s the former, then I can’t see him wanting to save anything and his morality in the situation is already compromised. If it’s the latter and he maybe thought ponies were nothing more than dogs, then I can see his hesitation. I guess it’s context that I desire.
I protest nothing. I thoroughly enjoy escapist entertainment in every form of media and gladly engage in many fandoms and anyone who tries to imply that a throw away comment on a cute piece of fanart is indicative of mental illness is the one in need of a reality check.
And I am confident in my ability to tell the difference between right and wrong. I hope I never find my self in a situation similar to the one depicted above but if i did then I, like any decent person would attempt do the right thing for everyone involved.
I’m not saying you can’t be delusional. I’m just saying that you shouldn’t forget your place in this world. I mean, if you were in this situation and not a different person, would you actually save her? Let alone save the others. Methinks thou doth protest too much.
Well aren’t you speciel mr “fanart’s not real stop having fun guys”.
Why don’t you take the stick out your butt and loosen up?
Nah, I just know the difference between fantasy and reality.
Me thinks you may be projecting your own insecurities upon others. Have some confidence in yourself dude, The two aren’t mutually exclusive.

I feel like these shouldn’t be together
