Is this a reference to the Tim Burton Planet of the Apes film? I remember enjoying that film but it’s been a while since I’ve watched it, dunno if I’ll change my mind if I decide to watch it again at some point lol

Story: Scientists created the first ponies, the Royle Sisters, in an attempt to create new life. It was a success, but an unexplained event left humanity dead and the ponies left standing. 1000 years later, ponies now roam the planet that was once earth, and many cities were renamed, from San Francisco to San Franciscolt, Seattle to Seaddle, Manhattan to Manehatten, Boltimore to Boltimare, etc

There’s two possibilities  
  1. The whole time they were just expirements and are being kept in a gigantic containment zone made to resemble ponyville, with the scientists watching from afar  
  2. Humans created the first ponies, possibly including the royal sisters, in an expirement in gene splicing, which worked better than they ever could have hoped. Then due to some self inflicted disaster humanity was destroyed, leaving only the ponies behind. And after 1000s of years the last of the human ruins either decayed or where buried by time to never be found…until now
