On top of that, Pinkie described her relationship to Applebloom as being, “a fourth cousin twice removed by a fifth cousin,” and since Applebloom and Pinkie are sisters to Big Mac and Marble respectively, we can conclude that their relation to each other would be the same. In addition to this, the odds of a child being born with birth defects are only marginally more likely among first cousins, and there are no signs of any such increase within second cousins and onward, so to call the relationship incest is stretching it quite a bit.

Are people still going about Marble and Mac being cousins? The link between the families happened quite a while back, to the point where only Pinkie would make a big deal about it. Also, it’s through marriage, which means they’re not blood related at all.
