Well, it was nice to see them so soon after the premiere as we never saw them revert back to their normal appearances like the rest of the Mane Cast. Plus, I’m sure that once they learn of Spike making a new friend and ally in the dragons, they will be very proud of him.

Gotta say, even though I loved this episode, I wasn’t a fan of how Tia and Luna showed up for some nice bonding with Twi, gave some exposition, and were pretty much sidelined.

Oh boy, a princess tea party!! Haven’t had those in a while!!

Celestia and Luna make another appearance, back to their normal, everyday appearance since the last time we saw them in the premiere, they were still in their temporary Crystal Alicorn appearance and we never saw them revert back like the rest of the Mane Cast, and we see them finally getting some quality time to spend with Twilight before Spike comes along and messes all that up.
 
Still, at least they had some time off from their royal duties to spend with Twilight, and when they learn of Spike having forged a new ally in the dragons, that will be something to appreciate a lot.

I’ve been dying for an episode about how Celestia and Luna are like when there not being princesses, leave it to Spike to fuck that up!

Didn’t expect to see these two in this episode.
