Hasbro has a stake in that series too, since they own ROM.
sorry, had to do it. :D

Point taken, Tex. ‘3’
I WAS FIVE YEARS OLD AND THE NINETEEN GODDAMN SEVENTIES WERE A DIFFERENT ERA OKAY
To be clear, do you mean this one?
I loved those toys, man.
Not many, and for obvious reasons. My point is that it’s important to remember that although Marvel shaped him into a strong and memorable character, they don’t technically own him. It’s a shame, too. It would have been awesome to see ROM in Guardians of the Galaxy (though given all of the “impossible” things that the MCU is continuing to achieve… who knows?).
True, but how many people remember ROM the toy as compared to the comic?
Not quite. The Marvel comic series made him who he is, but ROM was originally owned by Parker Brothers, and they licensed the character to Marvel. After the seven-year run of the ROM: Spaceknight comic series, the license reverted back to Parker Brothers. Later, Parker Brothers was bought out by… Hasbro! So yeah, Hasbro owns ROM right now.
It’s wishful thinking for now, as this is just a bonus comic cover. But since IDW is doing a ROM series, I suppose it’s not out of the question in terms of the licenses. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
Bloth pony when?
This needs to be in the show dude…
Maybe he goes to review an old comic of the first generation of MLP.
While a lot of Linkara’s reviews do focus on crappy and bizarre comics, he does mixes things up with reviews suggested by Patreon sponsors, retrospectives for certain comic book heroes during the month of March (with Rom being one of those heroes), the occasional good comic that’s Xmas focused, and the annual November event that is “Secret Origins Month” (which focuses on the first appearances of various comic book heroes).
I’ve not seen very much of his videos, does he ever say good things about some of the comics he reviews, or does he only chose bad ones to begin with?
