My personal headcanon is that it’s actually crystallized dragon blood, because I’ll find any excuse to connect FiM to Magic: the Gathering.

That doesn’t look a thing like bloodstone. From a show that used the term ‘inclusion’ correctly, even.
Also, bloodstone by its very definition is flawed; without the rusty inclusions, it would be jade.

I believe the word for that is “friendshipping.” There’s an entire tag for it.
Not all pairings are ships. Like Starlight and Spike, I’m subscribing to this duo as friends and nothing more. (One upcoming piece would be on the fence on that)
I also was busier during the season premiere, and focused more on the new baby and the Starburst ship than Starlight and Spike.
