I’ve never seen them hinting anything close to that doe. I just don’t think that is part of their plan. Both EG and FiM are separate series with their own stories and I’m sure they have their own separate plans for both. I don’t think Sunset, or any of the EG characters, are part of the show’s plans.
 
I’m sure it could happen but at this stage I feel like it’s a very small percentage.

Ehh, I don’t know about that. Just because it’s not on the table now doesn’t mean they can’t do it in the future some time. Honestly, they could probably do it very easily if they want. Some sort of two part season finale or premier. Even if they don’t do it that way, we already know a portal exists between the two worlds. It wouldn’t be a stretch by any means to have Sunset come back for an episode or even once in a while.

I’m not saying the events of the movie didn’t happen. I’m saying that a Sunset cameo is an entirely different animal than Flash’s small cameo.  
You can’t do that for Sunset because she is a major character in EqG AND she doesn’t have a counterpart in Equestria. You basically have to dedicate a good portion of the episode to her and Hasbro and the staff don’t feel like doing that.

It doesn’t matter, both Flashs were introduced in EqG. The way Flash looks at Twilight implies that the brief flirtation they have in the first movie did happened. If that event from the movie did happen, why can’t everything else?

There was the EQG Flash and the Equestria Flash, she met both in the first movie and at the end when she bumped into pony Flash again, they kinda had a moment.

Proof? The way he looked at Twilight right before he entered the train sure made it look like he was. The “years ago” argument is bull since by that logic Nurse Redheart and countless other characters don’t exist since we also haven’t seen them in years.

Well that Flash isn’t the same one as the one in the movies. And that was years ago, he hasn’t had any role since then.  
A Sunset cameo would probably require greater focus than just a small line and one second appearance.

I’ve always thought that if they ever wanted to bring EqG into the main franchise, they’d have to do so in a separate series, since it would break the cardinal rule of FiM’s worldbuilding. The Movie Film for Theaters would be a perfect time for such a soft reboot, leading into a spinoff series (G4.5?) that acknowledges EqG and allows for some interaction while keeping the focus on Equestria and its ponies.
 
But of course that’s all hypothetical. For now.

They could’ve put Sunset Shimmer in, to imply that she and Starlight Glimmer not only have similar sounding names, but also similar past experiences, where they were both defeated by Twilight and her Ponied Up Friends. They would’ve been perfect for each other.
 
But it’s very possible that Hasbro is trying to segregate Equestria Girls AWAY from the rest of My Little Pony, to turn Equestria Girls into a Separate, and I DO mean Separate series! I mean, it’s not like the 2017 movie will bring both worlds together, as the two dimensional sets of Mane Six will meet each other, and Sunset meets Starlight.
