“FRIEND, YOU ARE CRAZY!”
True.
Score wise I don’t know, all the first 6 have frankly incredible scores with pieces that you hear an instantly think of “O HEY THAT SCENE” that’s what I Thought the TFA score REALLY lacked. There was nothing that I listen to and Immidately think of some scene like say, Duel of the Fates, Imperial March, that brief piece of music during the last part of the Luke V Vader duel in ROTJ or hell even something as simple as the bit of music that plays when Anakin first arrives on Mustafar.
Yeah, I guess you got a point.
And actually, RotS has my favorite score for the entire saga.
Well after he’s killed Mace he’s basically in a position where has NO ONE left but Palpatine, she he basically just accepts what he says because he doesn’t really have another option anymore, that’s how I take it anyway.
And yeah Don’t know what was with John Williams but TFA didn’t have a very memorable score compared to the other 6 nor did it have a big SHOW STOPPER piece.
Body acting? You mean facial expressions and whatnot? Yeah, I can agree with you there.
And it’s mostly lines like when he’s about to fight Obi-Wan.
And it just seemed like he went with Palpatine’s lie without questioning it at all. And then after he killed Mace, he told Anakin that they would discover the secret to saving Padme after it seemed like he knew how to do it already. And Anakin didn’t question that, either. It just seems really botched and confusing.
And I enjoy them all, too, I love the action in the prequels and the music score was really memorable in all three. Something that TFA lacked in my opinion.
It depends some of his lines post turn are delivered a bit overdone but for the most part I think he’s fine and he nails the body acting.
Well with his fall, your basically supposed to infer that Palpatine’s been doing this for YEARS but yeah they could of shown it more.
I find all the Star Wars movies enjoyable in their own way, I bash Attack all the time but iv still watched it many times.
I dunno, he was good in 3 until he turned to the dark side, then when he got all evil and stuff, it really came off as overly dramatic and annoying. I think he’s good when he’s not trying to be emotional.
And I just hated how easily he fell, like, “The Jedi are evil because I said so” and Anakin kind of just went with it without question and stuff.
I get what you mean about Nostalgia, though. I’ll never prefer the prequels over any other of the movies though.
And did you at least find the movie enjoyable, if not watchable?
I thought Hayden actually got quite a bit better between Attack and Revenge, his fall to the Dark Side could of used more time, but it worked well enough for me, at least I KIND of cared. TFA went so fast ALL the time that I never got to care about ANYTHING.
Ultimately id take a flawed ambitious piece over a decent uninsipried nostalgiafest any day of the week regardless. I HATE the current obession with NOSTALGIA and REMAKES LETS ALL RE-LIVE OUR CHILDHOODS GUYSSS!
Fair enough. I can agree it was too much like E4, but it still did some things right, and I think made a good setup for the next couple, and I don’t think it did anything wrong at least, just too similar to ANH.
And I see what you mean about Rey, still, none of that really mattered to me and I think it’s miles ahead of RotS
As for Revenge, I really dislike Hayden Christensen as an actor, he seems to try too hard and is a bit overdramatic, and not to mention his turn to the dark side was done pretty poorly in my opinion.
Finn is quite literally the only main character who I liked, Kylo was good too. Rey’s arc made little sense and her progression in the force was absurd, and Poe was barely a character.
Episode 3 despite it’s flaws has plenty of memorable scenes and is a pretty ambitious piece, and it’s actually trying to BE something. TFA is just some guys nostalgic fantasy, a remarkably unmemorable rehash of ANH expect with a main character who’s arc makes almost no sense.
Oh, right :P
