I don’t know, they’re not that bad, though I haven’t really been keeping up with the comic series lately. (Regardless, they’re probably better then the recent games.) Still I liked ’em better when Ian began writing for ’em.
 
Actually, if you read my post fully, I stated it was only a small amount of Sonic fans I had trouble with. Most have been pretty cool actually. I actually feel bronies are more obsessed with ’shipping nowadays. Heck, I rarely see anyone portray Lyra & BonBon as a platonic couple anymore, or even as separate characters. (Nothing against them, but they feel kinda flanderized by that pairing.)

Regardless, messing with the Sonic fandom is almost the exact definition of stirring a hornet’s nest. They’re also a good chunk of this whole shipping/fandom mess to begin with, so I’m not surprised they came after you.

The old “SonAmy” VS “SonSal” wars amongst Sonic fans on DA used to be so bad, that whenever I’d make a fanart pic making fun of Amy Rose, Amy-fans would accuse me of hating Amy, or being SonSal. Then when I’d make a pic making fun of Sally, or state I’m not upset over Sally being (temporarily) roboticized by Eggman in the official comic, (spoiler: she’s back to normal now) then the opposite would happen. Suddenly, I hate Sally, am SonAmy, ect. (Truth is, I don’t hate either, but don’t care about OTPs either.)
 
Ironically, the writer for the official Sonic comic, Ian Flynn said the same thing always happens to him whenever he uses either Sally, OR Amy prominently in a comic issue.
 
Luckily, those were just a small amount of Sanik fans I had to deal with, as most could take a joke, or weren’t hung up on their OTP.

I laughed at the guy with the screen-name “POWNY” and the pony avatar stating, “Bronies are disgusting people! I would never associate with virgin neckbeards!” Sarcasm, or self-loathing? Or perhaps even the elusive “brony in denial?” (Oddly, I see many brony-haters who are bronies/pegasisters themselves.)
