Emerald thanks Sepulcher, and the lich nods and makes his way back upstairs.
 
Emerald begins to peruse the shelves. Some of the books here are truly ancient, with tattered covers and brittle pages. Emerald is shocked to find that he can’t even recognize the languages on some of them. Every time Emerald turns the corner around a bookshelf it seems like more and more rows appear.
 
As a test, Emerald tries calling out to the room like he did at Joyride’s and asking for help, but nothing responds. Looks like he is doing this the old fashioned way.
 
Emerald wanders the halls a little more, and finds books on geography, magic of the various species, history, catalogs of the creatures in the area…
 
…And the black shelf that Sepulcher was talking about. It stands out among the other ornate bookcases by being a truly shiny jet black. Emerald thinks it might even be made of obsidian. Even from where Emerald is standing down the hall he can feel the magic radiating from the area.
