Those arms don’t look like they are doing any kind of pose. It fits neither her being embarrassed or cold. They just seem kind of weird… Probably because they’re too long…

yep, that’s true, I noticed that before upload it, but I didn’t want to fix it. So I decided to upload it anyway.
 
Now I’m still noticing more mistakes in this. But I don’t have any problem with it, it helps me to improve.

We really have overanalyzed the Tartarus out of this, huh.

All this talk about her arm positioning has just made me notice that her upper arms in the right image are weirdly long. Or maybe I’ve just never seen anyone with elbows that reach their hips. It also really makes the position of her right arm look odd and painful, like it’s bending in a direction that it shouldn’t.

I just think that if a blind person was self conscious about how they looked and covered themselves with their arms, it’d look much the same as anyone else doing it, not because of prior knowledge of the gesture, but just because there are only so many ways to do it, with arms in the same place as anyone else’s, covering what anyone else is trying to cover.
 
But the artist saying that wasn’t the intent at all anyway is good enough for me.

You’re the one not listening, boy. I didn’t want to bring this up because I thought you guys were critical enough to listen to me, but I have a cousin that was blind when he was born and I’ve taken him to his special needs school where I also talk with other blind teenagers.
 
There, you had to make me say that I have personal experience. Are you going to believe me now, or are you just going to cover your ears once again and not listen to reason?

It’s not like there are a million ways to hold your arms over your body. But if you won’t hear what anyone, even the artist, has to say, there is probably little point in going on.

If she was cold, she would be holding her arms really, really tight around her, not in such a delicate way. Like, her right hand would also be holding her arm just like the left hand is doing it.

You’re still, missing the point. I made it quite clear, this specific pose is something you need to learn by seeing other people acting that way. What you people still don’t get, is that this specific pose, with her arms covering herself without holding them tight, as if she was cold, is a pose that you need to learn by looking at other people act it. She needs to learn that pose by seeing it, to be able to replicate it.
 
 
And how she is looking at her underwear, have you seen Toph, from Avatar? You know how she would usually stare awkwardly into the horizon while she spoke with other people? That’s because her eyes are not an important part of herself, so things like eye contact and such don’t apply to her. It’s the same case her, she wouldn’t be “looking down” at her underwear, because her eyes are not tools to recollect information.
 
Look, I know that you like this pic, I also like it, but you don’t need to defend this kind of stuff because there is no way to defend it. The artist didn’t consider her being blind and just wanted to draw a cute picture, no need to look for justification on why she is acting like that.

She’d know by being told, from being around other people who are similarly self conscious. Seeing how people act isn’t the only way people learn it. Blind people know you don’t normally go around in their underwear and could easily be nervous about showing more than they usually do.

No but you’re still missing the point. The way she is acting, her particular expression of covering her body, is something that you have to learn by looking at other people react the same way. It’s not something natural that we human beings do, but it’s something we learn to do, which she wouldn’t be able to learn because she wouldn’t have seen it. It’s a very specific cultural expression.
 
The main thing is that the artist didn’t consider her blindess while drawing it, just thought that she would look cute being embarrassed of the underwear she is wearing.

And maybe she’s embarrassed over the design she’s currently wearing?

What I mean is that she’s looking down and trying to cover herself with her arms. If she was truly blind from birth, she wouldn’t even try to cover herself like that, because she wouldn’t be aware of shame based on another people’s gaze AND that kind of behaviour only happens if you see other people act that way.

I’m pretty sure blind people can tell if they are wearing a big coat versus underwear.

She shouldn’t be aware of what she is wearing in the second pic. Also she’s a blind underage girl, people, come on.

So cute and shy in the second one. If she could know how adorable she is, she’d be unstoppable!
