@Background Pony #C73C
not forget no pony a scare of celestia unless he or she a done something very bad and will punish or think will be punish but dont know Celestia will forgive them and give them a other chance like Twilight in lesson zero
@Ferrotter
Wrong.
If fluttershy was cruel, you would be seeing her yelling at her animals …
Look at what they most struggle to attain - the inner daemons that they fight. These are their “tragic flaws”.
When writing characters, they are never at their best more than when they are at their worse - look at their aspects when they are under the control of Discord in the “Return Of Harmony” - those aspects are the opposites of who they are when they are their best.
And each of them, when stressed beyond their ability to cope, become the opposite of who they are meant to be, and forever struggle with the ideals they are most closely tied to.
When your characters “teach what they most need to learn’, that’s just good writing.
Each one of them has their own “Hero’s Journey” - the struggle to find a way to integrate who they are at their best with who they are when they are at their worse.

Applejack is honest in cider episode.
Rainbow dash is loyal in wonderbolts academy.
rarity has been greedy before, but is also generous
pinkie pie loves to make her friends smile

In a way it fits. Each of the ponies has the element that least reflects them, but reflects what they want to be. Applejack isn’t even as truthful as Rainbow Dash. Rarity is generous when she thinks about it, and she makes a point to think about it, but her first thought is her business. Pinkie Pie slips into a deep, delusional depression the instant she even thinks her friends might like something else more than her parties. Fluttershy is one fright away from snapping and jumping on her best friend’s stomach. Rainbow Dash is very self-centered. And Twilight, well, she’s magical, but remember that Friendship = Magic; she was a friendless shut-in who needed lessons on friendship on a weekly basis. Over time she got good at it but she’s not a natural. Even now she screws up bigtime with Starlight.
So Celestia wants to be seen as a kindly joker but her subjects are reverently terrified of her; that also means she’s had no really close friends since Starswirl and Luna; and she doesn’t mean to upstage her little sister but like Rarity herself she did. Luna wants to be a loved part of the team but couldn’t stand being the lesser part; got very depressed over her work not being appreciated; and ultimately betrayed her sister. And yet, now, they’re getting closer to what they always wanted to be. The foals love Luna, she’s happy (but still beating herself up over something she did 1000(!) years ago), and Celestia is spending more time with her regular subjects finally now that Cadance and Twilight are doing more in the world. It’s really very fitting.
I still hope we eventually get a Celestia ep and really expand her character.

the element bearers aren’t the ones who best embody their element. they’re the one who needs its help the most.
dont forget laughter.
