I had a headcanon that the griffons corresponded to European cultures, the dragons to East Asian cultures, and the donkies to Meso-American cultures. The map did put the griffons to the East of Equestria, but they did not put the dragons to the West. The Equestrian dragons in that comic book did use East Asian imagery in their suburb, though.
The Yaks, fleshed out?
You’re entitled to your opinion and everything, but I have never seen a fictional race that is more one-note than the yaks on this show.

Those two races are still there. So nothing has changed. Also, the dragons would like to have a word with you. They are a much more fleshed out culture now.

Me, too. But I was hoping for species diversity as well. That’s what they did in Season One, with Zecora and the Buffalos. Now, everybody’s a pony.

I love spicy food, and by extension Indian food. Guess it’s true - spice isn’t for everypony!
Actually, the spiciness of typical Indian food could be a plot point here, with why the restaurant is struggling.
Minuette and Lemon Hearts don’t like Indian food?
