It’s the same thing like Coca Cola and Pepsi are the same thing.
I’ve been too spoiled by my grandma’s home-made lemon curd to ever accept the jarred stuff.
A quick Google search revealed that there are egg free recipes, so totally give it a try if you can find it. You won’t be disappointed, lemon curd is awesome in a jar.

Haven’t tried making it myself; instead I purchase mine from one of the local health food markets. Several pretty good brands are available, though as with anything home-made is probably the best.

Marmite is good, with certain situations. I like spreading it on bread.
I have a little tradition of buying my dad weird foreign foods for Christmas. Looks like I’ve found this years gift.
Lemon curd is indeed the supreme topping, but it’s so hard to make right…
