A critic shouldn’t expect things to conform to their personal taste. They should just expect things to be good.
The episode might have been better if there was a second critic with more reasonable taste to contrast Zesty Gourmand.

I mean, even before that he was good at his job, he was just a jerk. People cared about his reviews because he was honest and had good taste, while Zesty is just the sole arbiter of a rating system that it’s not clear why anyone cares about.
Probably not; I doubt they’d base an antagonist, especially an unredeemed antagonist, on a real-life figure.
