It’s funny though, cause the well is the cheapest decorative item in the Gameloft MLP game.  
I got around five hundreds of them in my inventory cause of the free daily balloon pop game.
 
I can’t sell them for some reason… I don’t want your damn wells, what am I supposed to do with them?
 
Yeah, I think I’m the man who’s gonna burn the CEO and the Gameloft staff’s houses with the wells. XD

It’s seems that someone was playing this game everyday and noticed the “pattern” going on, like I did. XD
 
When the new (and late) update came upon the android devices, I’d actually missed the first day of the fashion event, and I was unable to unlock the Pinkie Pie’s mailmare outfit.  
why isn’t Derpy the one wearing it anyway?
 
After that first day, as mentioned by you, there will be one other outfit set getting unlocked respectively, and got locked up the next day if you didn’t manage to craft the complete set in time.  
I was foolishly hoping that Pinkie Pie will be back unlocked someday. But instead, she was locked throughout the five days, and hundreds of gems were needed to get the set unlocked…
 
So… Charity Kindheart, which is the new pony only can be obtained with all five sets complete in five day, still remained in “grey shade status” in my inventory, as I refused to pay the hundred gems just to unlock the set which I missed the first day.
 
Oh well, not a great loss anyway, since the dresses doesn’t give much significant benefit boost to the gameplay anyway, other than just looking pretty.
 
||And from my years of experience playing this game, I’m pretty sure Gameloft will repeat the whole “event and offers and stuff cycle” again someday in the future. ||
 
 
Apparently for Gameloft, money is magic, not friendship. XD
 
For the one past year from my gameplay experience, I don’t think I had seen any new content introduced in the game can be “unlocked” without the transaction of the precious gems, whenever the game is receiving an update.

Hey, I wasn’t snarking at you, just at Gameloft.  
They provide a lot of ways to earn things in the game, and each of them lousier than the other.
 
I really hope their managers this Christmas receive proper bonuses. Ranging between 15¢ and 50¢ depending on their dedication to work. AND a raise! No less than 8¢ per month!
 
Edit: And a well. Hire a firm to dig wells in front of the building, then give ownership of these wells to the management. The upper managers would get more wells, two or three each. The CEO would get seven wells, a 90 cent raise, and a bush. A thorny one.

Anyway, I had played this Gameloft game for years, so… I had pretty good experiences on overcome the problem of “difficulty of gem seeking” in this game.
 
So… here’s the picture of Dashie getting proper dress up in this outfit. XD  

And this is immediately after they just had a fashion event where each costume was worth under half of this per set. Like, literally yesterday they had the last costume of that set available… and this one is only around for 1 day, so if you don’t already have the gems, you aren’t getting it. Unless you waste $30 or whatever on it.
 
By tomorrow they will lock this set and unlock the next one. Most likely equally as expensive. They aren’t even trying to be subtle in any remote way anymore… this game is only about the money to them. They don’t care who gives it to them, they just want money. Children, teens, adults, it don’t matter.
 
This is the most expensive activity in the game right now, and they add extremely expensive very limited time event to it on top of that. With the failed random chances on looting the parts you need, you could burn the 370 gems and only get flowers and buttons because of how rigged it is.

Be honest, I was kinda numb on these kind of “Gameloft logic” anymore, thanks to the years of experience playing this game. XD

Hey, it’s not that bad! You can craft this costume from costume parts. This one is 56 parts, and assuming you get exactly the ones you need, at 5 gems per part, that’s… oh, 280 gems.
 
Or you can get them by watching commercials. 56 commercials, one per day. Well, you can watch the commercials twice a day, the other one yielding a gem, so actually, 45 gems is 9 parts, + 45 parts directly, add two more days, in 47 days, given extreme luck you’ll have it.
 
Even shorter if you kill changelings,parasprites and fruit bats. They can shake out 2-3 gems per day. Add one gem per level, one level per 2-3 days.
 
If you are incredibly skilled and lucky, you can get 2 gems per hour from the minecart minigame. Nobody is though, so realistically add 2 per week.
 
Then there’s the lottery with about 0.5% of a chance for an ingredient and another 0.5 for a gem. About 5 times a day, so again, 1 each per 20 days…
 
All in all the ballpark is 3 weeks of grinding to afford one costume - out of four.

Gameloft Logic, doesn’t was the first time in this game with boutique related events.

Meanwhile, my game hasn’t even updated to version 2, and thus, i don’t have access to this sort of thing.
