Until not all that long ago (from the perspective of a beta player, at least), if the total was the same, armor was strictly better than health (e.g. 2 hp + 30 armor was strictly better than 30 hp + 2 armor) That would buff Mortal Strike, eliminate Alexstrasza as an offensive threat (unless Auchenai was in place, I guess), and make shield slam hit harder. Having less health and more armor also means getting to take advantage of heal effects more fully. Drakonid Crusher made it more of a tradeoff, but in general armor is still better than health.

I think it’s an interesting idea. I DID face some heavily Shield Bash-reliant deck before. I mean where healers will start with Northshire Cleric and mages will drop a Mana Wyrm first, warriors get armor boosters like Armorsmith instead, so many deck try to include Shield Bash anyway. And note that it says “nonlethal” so as soon as you’d drop below 1 health with this it starts using up shields intead, it just lets you stack more. Since there are no cards to bypass shields in Hearthstone it just makes saving up shields easier without adding any risk, and so I think it can be a very good card. Doubling or tripling your Shield Bash power is not to be sniffed at.

99% of all HearthStone fan-cards are blatantly overpowered or broken. This one is a credible “meh-tier” card : you can’t have everything in the “must-have” category.

This is basically a SnapJaw, but with some benefit when :
  • wanting to maximize “Shield Bash”
  • wanting to use “Armor Up” without losing card draw from “Battle Rage” (which happen against very slow decks)
Neither are really useful (until there is more cards interacting with Armor/Health), but at least it’s original.

    Edit :
Yeah, forgot about this also making “Revenge” and “Mortal Strike” less risky to activate. Still a bad card, but not a useless one.

The idea of this card is to give late game warriors the option for pure healing effects by being able to take advantage of it before their armor is gone. There’s also the potential for Mortal Strike and Revenge.

There is literally no point in this card except to buff shield slam. If the warrior could use armour as a resource to fuel more cards, or as a win condition, or even to cast powerful spells/summon strong minions as the warlock does, or like how the shaman uses overload, THEN it would be interesting.
