No, Heroclix is a completely different game. It predates Skylanders. It’s a board game rather than a video game. The characters are licensed properties (the most common are comic characters) and each player creates teams based on a point limit. More powerful characters = more points. Then they face off against each other or a mutual enemy. Each character comes with a card detailing their abilities. You use dice to determine hits, and as a character is injured you rotate their base which shows their remaining life and what abilities they’ve gained or lost.

Heroclix figures are purchased in either preset packs or more commonly, random boosters. It’s a popular game, akin to Magic: The Gathering, and many game/comic shops run dedicated nights for it, as well as hold tournaments (which come with exclusive figures and such from WizKids, the creators, as prizes.)

It is 100% plausible for pony Heroclix to exist, if Hasbro wanted to license them out. Even Ninja Turtles Heroclix recently were released.

All of these renders are using Heroclix bases and they appear to be concepts for a game using the same system. So I’m tagging them as such.
