They work according to this set of equations… Electromagnetism is a fundamental force.
 
It’s kinda funny - if you think about it, all science does is tell you more precisely the way in which it works, but you can always ask “why” and go a step further than anyone’s explained.
 
At the end of the day, it just kind of is, in a weird sort of existential way…
 
I mean, why does nature follow laws at all? And yet it does, in the most nuanced, perfectly consistent and beautifully elegant, most marvelous way…
 
…Thus lifting Rarity off the stage.
 
But it’s quite marvelous and baffling how nature - reality - exists in such a way that she can exist at all.
 
Imagine a room full of Ph.D’s in mathematics, theoretical physics, biology, neurology… How much they could fill libraries on the birth of the universe, the evolution of galaxies, how dna and mitochondria work, how neurons have firing synapses that allow those cells to interact with our world - You could spend lifetimes studying all of it.
 
And what it all comes down to, is the same reality those high school girls know. That’s the end result of all of it.
 
It takes all of that to make it happen, and millennia of science yet unknown. But there it is. Reality follows elegant laws perfectly, and thus we can exist to marvel at it, or just to play some music oblivious to the universe we live in and love…
 
It’s so strange, I spend quite a lot of time thinking about it…
