Actually, Pinkamena is still a manifestation of Pinkie Pie’s negative emotions/thoughts. It’s just a couple people’s fanon to have her be a seperate pony for convenience sake.

why
Pinkamena is a separate character? I was under the impression it was simply an alternate name for a depressed/flat haired Pinkie Pie.
 
Because, I mean, it would be incredibly stupid to have that name be the name for the cupcakes pinkie, or something. After all, that one didn’t even have flat hair. Silly op. No one’s that stupid.
