@SuperFlame
Only twilight and sunset get super mode transformations!
Equestria isn’t really like Narnia.
Equestria is similar to the US and Canada geographically and the city names are just horse puns of US cities. Equestria is mostly a horse-like version of the US
It’s not their classical pony-magic though. It’s some sort of supernatural powers, like Power Ponies. Pony Pinkie can’t use explosions as a power, and Pony Dash doesn’t have Flash-esque running powers.
LOL I actually thought about that the moment I saw this GIF.
“being strong” is the ONLY thing that Applejack has as a special ability in the pony world though; the abilities the mane six have in this movie are all more or less based on what the mane six do as ponies in their world as logical extensions of their pony counterparts “normal” abilities. (Apart from rarity who’s just getting shield powers “Because” in order to keep her on the same level as the other 5).
If you don’t go with super strength for applejack then you’ll run into the same situation as rarity, where her power is just an asspull out of nowhere, since that’s the only real super abilitie Horse AJ has ever shown.
What a shame that they can’t read your comment
Why?
It doesn’t help the coherency or make the ‘human’ world more distinct than Equestria.
I love how they have been quite ambiguious with that all this time.
He points out its not earth since our earth has more limitations. Your overthinking this. Plus it invites sour jokes like ‘if it is Earth, then why is everyone multi-colored?’
He’s likely referring to Earth as our exact world with no magic and no magic uncovered in its history. I’m talking about EG-verse as an earth in a broad sense as a human world that matches up with ours 99% and you really don’t need to overthink this. Any differentiation’s from the norm of Earth in the past or present of EG-verse will be revealed as abnormal at the time of its reveal.
How is it a silly argument when that’s the word of the co-director? If you want I could pull it up for you.
Maybe I’m not following but do you mean earth as in the world is geographically similar to ours or that the cultures are the same?
I think that analogy is fairly accurate.
@Background Pony #5963
I’ve heard that argument before. Its silly. Its the human world and that’s the end of it. That means that, unless we are given direct info otherwise, its basically an animated version of Earth with a few adjustments here and there that open up the possibility of magic and creatures existing but not in documented occurrence or history. Any fictional earth with magic introduced as an unknown has that potential.
@Background Pony #5963
What? No, of course not. If a dimension like Equestria is Narnian-esque, along with being next door neighbors with the human world, then Equestria would not be counted as a version of Earth.
Can the same be said about Equestria?
It’s not “our” Earth, because places and characters are fictional, but it’s still an Earth. But same could be said about GTA Earth, or Doug Earth :P.
We don’t know if it’s Earth. Well, actually, the co-director of the movies said it isn’t Earth. We really know nothing about the world. I think it’s probably the greatest weakness of these films, the lack of lore
Well, there weren’t exactly any noticeable problems in Equestria after Starswirl banished the first magical entities to the EG dimension. So he succeeded on that front. And if there aren’t any foreseeable repercussions from doing it the first time, why not do it for anything too powerful to destroy and too dangerous to keep around? It’s a very “screw you, got mine” mentality, but as far as he knows it worked perfectly.
Nobody ever said Starswirl was Competent…
Well, twilight did, but she’s a fangirl.
>Heck if Starswirl was trying to send the Sirens to a dimension where no magic existed, then he kind of failed in that department.
Think of it like Dumping chemicals into the water supply. The first time or two its done it won’t cause people to die, but when you just keep DOING IT you end up with chunky water and stomach cancer.
They should have stopped at the first magical entity that they booted into equestria; I’m fairly confident gaia won’t be the LAST equestrian entity we’ll run into before this series is over.
Plus if he did, we would have has at least 500 videos on it.
