I’ve been with this idea in my head for a while but didn’t manage to have time to execute it until now.  
Ok, so here’s something pertinent about Radiance’s character.  
When her Chaos Magic began to manifest in her teenage years she demonstrated to have a hard time dealing with it and controlling it. While Discord attempted to teach her to accept it so it could be easier to keep it in control, Radiance fought against it and clung even harder into the Light Magic.  
Her Chaos Magic rarely manifested since then until her second heartbreak. Radiance had dated a Pegasus right before her dark powers first emerged and he ended the relationship a few months, and years after that she dated a Unicorn who showed to only have interest in dating her for being royalty. When he broke up with her Radiance sunk into depression and her Chaos Magic had an unexpected outbreak.  
Not being able to control it her parents, Discord and Celestia, tried to help her contain it but she blasted them away. And when her brother, Pandemonium, tried to help calming her down a burst of Chaos Magic injured him gravely on the chest. As Radiance looked upon the damage her dark power was causing to her family she instinctively smashed her horn against the wall until it cracked to stop the magic surges.
 
After the incident Radiance decided that was safer for everyone if she was locked up. So she confined in her bedroom and avoided contact with anyone for months. Her parents and brother tried to reach out for her but she refused to talk. The only thing they could do was wait for the best.  
Pandemonium would use his magic to teleport meals into her room, along with notes of jokes, bad puns and other things in attempt to lift her spirits but without effect.  
Radiance barely slept, afraid of the nightmares which showed that her dark powers would return and harm her family once again. Whenever her horn began to reform she would smash it against the walls of her room to prevent it from growing all the way back. She kept this routine for 4 months, hoping and begging that her horn wouldn’t grow back, but deep down she knew it was a lost cause.
 
One day her brother teleported into her bedroom wearing a silly outfit and their pet iguana as a scarf in another attempt to make her laugh, and this was the closest he got to her bursting into laughter. After lightening the mood with that, Pandemonium persuaded Radiance to leave the room and accept their father’s request to learn how to control her magic so she could prevent it from hurting anyone ever again. Pan was afraid she would refuse once more but she surprised him when accepted the offer.
